FAQs
Q: How would you define the “Blue Leopard” style?
A: I’d define my style as “Fresh Eclectic!” I love using color, pattern and texture, and believe every room needs a bit of whimsy and something vintage, unusual or exotic to keep it interesting and fun. Most importantly, I strive to make sure every room I decorate is highly personalized to the homeowners, taking into account your style and personality. Whether you want to be involved in every step of the design process or give me full creative license, I will take the time to get to know you, your personal taste, and the way your family functions in your home. I love incorporating furnishings or art you already own into your design and creating a dynamic space that works for you and your family.Q: Why should I hire an interior decorator?
A: The two reasons I hear the most are, “I’m not good at this myself,” and “I don’t have the time.” Both are great reasons to hire an interior decorator! I bring a creative, outside viewpoint and can visualize the possibilities for your rooms based on our initial interview, taking into account your style, preferences and lifestyle. Plus, I do all the work of designing, sourcing and installing your new looks for you, giving you beautiful rooms on “the big reveal.”Q: How do you personalize my rooms?
A: I think it’s very important to learn a little about you before I start the design. I’ll want to know about your ideas and vision before presenting my own. I also believe in incorporating items you already own into the design, like furnishings, antiques, collections, heirlooms, and treasured belongings. That personalization of your space is so important.Q: I have a very tight budget. Will we be able to make a difference in my room with so little to spend?
A: Yes! I find working within a budget—regardless of size—a fun challenge. You’d be surprised at how much of a difference painting and “editing” a room, rearranging furniture, and adding lighting can change the look of your home. I charge a flat rate for my work instead of hourly, so you know exactly how much you’ll be paying for my services. I pass along all of my trade discounts to you, and never mark up items I purchase for your project. I will also work with what you have, plus source updated furnishings and accessories from resellers, online retailers and discount home stores to create a fresh, eclectic and vibrant home, all in a short amount of time and within your budget.Q: How long does it take to complete an interior decorating project?
A: Generally, I aim for a 30- to 60-day turnaround on each room. The total time depends upon the number of rooms we’re working on, the extent of the design, and how quickly we can finalize decisions. If you need an even faster turnaround for a room refresh, I can do that too.Q: Does Blue Leopard Interiors do E-design?
A: Not at this time. I prefer to meet with clients personally. This way I can get a better feel for their personality and needs, and see the rooms in person.Q: When is the best time to start on an interior decorating project?
A: There is no best time. Some clients work with me when they’ve been living in their home for a while and want a fresh, new look to their rooms. Others may be moving into a new home and want an exciting new start. Why don’t you give me a call to discuss what you have in mind!Kind Remarks
Bedroom suite of our dreams!
Justine is a pleasure to work with. She brings a perfect blend of listening to understand our style and suggesting new elements, drawing on her own experience. She is certainly always “on the job”, even finding the perfect pillows for us in a little shop while vacationing with her family. She perfectly arranges for various professionals to do the various jobs that needed to be done. End result is the bedroom suite of our dreams!

Working with Justine was amazing!
Working with Justine was amazing! She really listened to me and understood my vision. She transformed my main floor from a bunch of old mix match pieces into a beautiful cohesive space. She kept my expenses down by using many of me existing piece, but made them seem like new, by recovering or painting them. Also, I’m a bit of a DIY person and she found some projects I could do. So, that I could feel a part of the transformation.
Justine Makes Renovating Fun
It’s always such a pleasure to work with Blue Leopard Designs. Justine Dennen has the unique ability to listen to your ideas, budget and schedule and make it all work seamlessly—while adding her own talent of design to your décor. Our last project included taking furniture which was a gift from my parents and re-working the pieces for a more updated look. We called it the Sentimental Suite project! Justine makes renovating fun and the final products are rooms you love living in … customer since 2013!
Fantastic Down to Every Detail
Blue Leopard Interiors did such an amazing job on my house (4 bedrooms, dining room, living room and den). Not only does my entire house look put together and fantastic down to every detail, it was so easy to do with Justine’s help. I never felt overwhelmed or out of the loop and the final result is perfect…without being contrived. Everything I look at in my house makes me happy—the colors, the textures—and I love knowing it’s done instead of simply being a “work in progress.” Thank you Justine!
Functional and Unique
You will never get a cookie-cutter look with Justine. She focuses on understanding how a space is used, and how it will and could be used. But she also focuses on infusing client personality into the space. I love how she sources from old and new and combines textures and styles to curate a creative space that is both functional and unique. She even “shops” from what you have and repurposes it. What was old is new again by finding a new place for it or giving it a coat of paint. What results is a high-end look without a high-end price…it also results in TV-worthy reveal moments. I’m pretty certain I cried tears of joy after seeing my new spaces for the first time.
